What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture dates back to over 2,500 years ago...
When people hear acupuncture they only think someone is just putting needles in there body for pain and that's it, but their is so much more to what acupuncture can offer than just eliminate pain. Acupuncture is a holistic healing technique that stems from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture is one of he oldest medicine that heals the body naturally. Acupuncture doesn't look at disease the same way western doctors do. In acupuncture we look at the body as a whole, symptoms or discomfort in the body are viewed as an imbalance that needs correcting. Addressing the root cause of your ailment allows acupuncture to virtually treat anything because we work on the symptoms not just the disease itself.
How acupuncture works
Acupuncture is based on the theory that Qi as known here in the west as energy or life force, flows through and around the body along pathways called meridians. These meridians work like series of rivers around the body flowing continuously, when disrupted causing disfunction in the body. The disruption of the meridian are caused by internal and external factors such as emotions, diet, trauma, etc. In acupuncture illness and chronic pain is caused by blockage or disruption along the body's meridians. Acupuncture treats the body by placing thin needles in different areas of the body to unblock the meridians, allowing Qi to flow properly.
Acupuncture corrects organ issues
You are wondering how acupuncture can actually correct your body's internal organ issues. Internal organ disfunction stem from the Qi in your body being deficient in that particular organ or excess Qi in another organ. This causes organ imbalances giving you symptoms such as fatigue, indigestion, diarrhea, irregular menstrual cycle, heavy menstruation, frequent urination, low libido, etc. Initially these symptoms may not arise but over time the imbalance in the organs give rise to symptoms you may experience. With acupuncture we strengthen the organs Qi allowing the organs to perform at the optimal level.
